WING
The main wing spar is a typical tapered construction of beam and flanges with lightening holes using 2024-T3. This is a high strength lightweight aluminum alloy with excellent fatigue resistance often found on certified aircraft but not widely used on sport aircraft because of its cost compared to 6061-T6 which is the material normally used.
The flanged ribs, ‘C’ channel rear spar, rudder and stabiliser are standard construction with 2024-T3 used at points where high strength is required.
FUSELAGE
The fuselage and main landing gear is in composite with glassfiber being reinforced with kevlar and carbon in areas subject to high loads.
CAGE
The fuselage cage is constructed from 4130 chrome moly steel which is typically used in this application because of its strength and ease of welding.
