The Allegro can be bought as a 51% kit.
For those with time and basic mechanical skills, it offers a very rewarding opportunity to save money and enjoy the achievement of flying an aircraft which they built.
It is also an excellent way to become thoroughly familiar with the airplane.
The airframe is about 95% built.
The fuselage is complete and the all-important tubular cage installed. The wings, stabiliser, wing struts, rudder, and main gear legs have been pre-installed by the factory engineers then disassembled for shipping.
There is a small amount of fibreglass work to do to make the tip fairings for the wings and stabiliser plus install the front leg but the factory can do all this for a small charge.
The pictures below show uncovered wing areas which are designed to take fabric panels to reduce weight for the European market. Complete all aluminum wings are a no cost option.
The main task of the builder is to assemble the components, fit the interior and electrics and install the engine.
Customers report build times as about 200 hours for the airframe plus another 50 to install engine and instruments.
All the items needed to complete the kit can be ordered from Fantasy Air but items additional to the airframe can be bought separately. This gives the builder the flexibility to choose what he needs or to use his own instruments or engine. These items include
Engine
Engine mount
Instruments
Paint
Safety belts
Upholstery
There is a complete construction manual and the factory offer assistance with problems or technical questions.
The photo below shows a kit in construction and another sealed and crated for shipping to Canada.
